Mr. Mom Summary

Mr. Mom has surrendered. Katie got home this morning and I went back to work. I really enjoyed spending time with our kids. They were relatively well behaved for the week and we did lots of fun stuff. But I didn’t enjoy having to entertain my lovely kids for what seemed like all 24 hours of a day.

In answer to the question of “Did it go well?” I’d have to give a qualified “Yes.” I enjoyed myself and the kids were accounted for the ENTIRE TIME. However, there were many things I didn’t quite get to, for example: making it to church before the class which I was supposed to be teaching had started. But I did make it before the class which I was supposed to be teaching ended!

Would I make a good stay-at-home Dad? No. The lack of structure would eventually erode myself and my kids down to powder. I noticed with each passing day that the day would start later and later. If this trend were allowed to continue, eventually I would fall an entire day behind and would be living a Monday to everyone else’s Tuesday.

So I had fun. It went reasonably well. Both kids (and me) escaped unscathed. But perhaps most importantly: I’ve got my baby back, and I’m happy.
